Helena N Martin

My name is Helena a student at the Polytechnic of Namibia studying for my B.Tech in accounting and Finance. I am person who looks promising in life, have good potentials and never give up easily on challenges. I am highly desciplined person, love poeple, making jokes, singing in choirs, friendly and like it when i am meeting new people. When i created this blog it didn't give me difficulties since i went accordingly to the instructions, however, somedays after creating it didn't wanted to log me in, anyways i managed when my Lecturer assisted me.

The Silk Scarf by Ahmed Essop

SETTINGS
The story was oriented by the Oriental Plaza in Johanesburg at a shopping centre owned by Indian people. This story was written in 1978 by Ahmed Essop an Indian. The Plaza developed as a result of apartheid government's group areas Act, which forced different race groups to live separately. All this was in the democratic South africa.

PLOT
Mrs Nebo and her friend Margaret were driven by their two escorts to the Oriental Plaza. Mrs Nebo was attracted to a lovely Indian dress that she bought and the scarf she bought it from Moghul boutique she only had a check to pay with but unfortunately Mr Sarku don't accept cheques a dispute was between Mrs Nebo and Mr Sarku, and both Mrs Nebo and Margaret bought shoes, jewelleries and swimming costumes. Since Mrs Nebo and Mr Sarku had conflict on a cheque the shopkeepers ended it by bying the scarf with cash and they gave it to Mrs Nebo as a gift. Mrs Nebo was very happy for the scarf, she smile happily and thanked the traders. Lucky she is!

CHARACTERS
Protagonist is Mrs Nebo, a wife to Mr Clive Nebo an important official of the African Front. She has a medium height with a smooth skin complexion. She is rich and wears expensive clothes. She was dressed in designing clothes and expensive jewelleris emerged.

Antagonist is Mr Sarku, a muslim business man, short gaunt looking man who wears antique braces. He never drinks
